 MARITIME

Getting internet on your boat is a very different story and another budget range !
Docked at the marina you are within range of the marina WiFI
( WiFi as WAN ) and 4G-LTE cell towers,
But, once you are away from the marina at sea you are out of range from 4G-LTE cellular towers,
so the only solution is a satellite link.

Popular solutions are available:

• KVH: VSAT-- TracPhone V30
• StarLink maritime  (Ku Band)
* Cobham SAILOR 4300 (L Band- Iridium NEXT)
* Cobham SAILOR 500  (L Band Inmarsat)

Those solutions are more appropriate for luxury boats and super Yacht.

 KVH: VSAT-- TracPhone V30

Satellite equipment and service provider KVH announced a new lower-cost satellite broadband receiver system, along with new "unlimited" data plans targeting the recreational boating market.

The KVH TracPhone® V30 is an ultra-compact, fast, digital SATCOM system featuring a 37 cm digital antenna that delivers higher signal strength, an easily installed single-cable, DC-power, and a commercial-grade rotary joint for unlimited rotation.

 STARLINK MARITIME

Starlink Maritime is the latest product offering from SpaceX Starlink.
But priced at $10,000 up front (2 dishes) + $5000.00/month, is this even worth it??

For you and me - definitely not...
but companies with large fleets of ships may be able to save a significant amount of money with Starlink Maritime versus other existing Internet-at-sea services using other type of satellites links.

But it is  possible to  use  the $2500 Starlink kit with the RV plan ($135/M),  the Flatpanel antenna and use it in motion  for your boat, but technically if you  are positioned far at sea the antenna GPS sensor cells would detect  your location and  starlink may decide to interrupt  service.
